Your financial history stays in an open SQLite database on your computer. LocalFinance ships as one standalone executable with the interface, server, and database engine included.
LocalFinance checks public GitHub Releases in the background, with results cached for four hours. When a release is available, review the release notes in the app. Supported standalone installations offer Update & Restart; macOS app installations offer Download Release.
Prefer to opt out? Turn off Automatic Update Checks in Settings. You can still choose Check for Updates whenever you want.
Release checks and update downloads contact GitHub. Your statements, transactions, and database stay on your machine.
macOS app installations offer a complete DMG download to preserve the app signature. Quit LocalFinance before replacing the app in Applications; your local database is preserved. Standalone executables support Update & Restart when their installation is writable.
