A builder, by nature.

I’m Usama, a software engineer with 12+ years of experience turning complex challenges into dependable software.

I work at the intersection of distributed systems and AI. At Microsoft Azure, that means building platforms that help teams ship intelligent agents, understand infrastructure health, and operate at planetary scale.

I’m drawn to the work beneath the surface: the architecture that makes a service resilient, the integration that makes a tool useful, and the small decisions that make software easier to live with.

Building the platforms behind intelligent agents and reliable cloud infrastructure.

AI agent platforms

Architected the Azure Networking AI Agent Platform with MCP integration, dynamic memory management, multi-model orchestration, automated evaluation, and enterprise security controls.

Built on Azure AI Foundry, Container Apps, and Cosmos DB for operational state and vector memory. Supported 10+ production agents across 52 internal teams, 16K-20K monthly API requests, and approximately 712 million tokens per month.

Planetary-scale telemetry

Designed multi-region Device Health APIs processing 150 million requests daily with 99.99%-99.999% reliability, monitoring more than 3 million Azure physical nodes globally.

Automation & security

Created schema-driven tooling for Net Assist, reducing per-workflow engineering effort by up to one week. Owned security compliance, vulnerability remediation, and threat model reviews as the S360 security point of contact.

Engineering together

Led architecture reviews and mentored engineers on scalable, resilient cloud systems as a primary subject-matter expert.
